To lay out, fit and fabricate metal components and perform skilled certified welding work on designated type of metal parts to produce products, setting up and operating either manual or automatic equipment to work materials to close tolerances.
Job Responsibilities
Work under readily available supervision, following blueprints, sketches, written or verbal instructions; and conforming to prescribed Code requirements.
Perform layout as needed.
Set up designated types of welding equipment to perform skilled Code Welding on designated types of materials, making required adjustments to related positioners and fixtures; and setting speed, amperage and voltage, or regulating flow of gas as required.
Monitor work, making dimensional and visual checks.
Take action to correct faults in work, as directed.
Perform other related duties including burning, operating material handling equipment, operating grinder and buffer, using appropriated hand tools, requesting needed supplies, and maintaining assigned work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform a variety of functions necessary for the successful operation of the facility, as assigned by the Machine Supervisor/ Production Supervisor.
Actively support, participates in, and maintains the integrity and on-going function of the company and facilitys safety program; ensuring a safe/healthy work environment.
Responsible for the general housekeeping and cleaning of area of working.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Knowledge
Proficient;
Has a proficient knowledge of welding
Has experience and knowledge of working with; - Carbon steel - Stainless steel - Cast iron - Duplex - SS308 & SS316 - Monel - Stellite - Inconel 625 - Aluminium bronze - Alloy steel 4130 - Sub Arc - Dressing/grinding - Heating and cutting - Fabricating
API 6A API 16A API 16C Basic;
Good communication skills in English language, both verbal and written.
Basic mathematics skills.
QC understanding of dimensional check and precision measuring equip.
Experience
Minimum 3 years previous experience.
Have worked as Welder (TIG & MIG) in production, fabrication/manufacturing shop environment.
Ability to read and follow complex drawings is preferred.
Education Requirements
Acquired certification in Welding
Capable to read and write Route sheets in English Language.
Physical Requirements
Light physical effort
Sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment
