Job Summary

Join SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s dedicated team and play a vital role in ensuring the health and welfare of diverse marine and exotic species while advancing veterinary science. As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll assist in medical treatments, emergency care, and rehabilitation programs, from administering medications to supporting research and wildlife rescue efforts. Your expertise in animal health protocols, diagnostic procedures, and hands-on care will directly impact animal well-being and conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a Veterinary Nursing Diploma or degree, at least two years of clinical experience, and a passion for non-domestic species, paired with strong communication, adaptability, and technical skills in data management and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities

• Assists with veterinary treatments and procedures for all aspects of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s collection as directed by Veterinarian
• Restrains patients for procedures performed by veterinary staff
• Coordinates medical procedures, treatment, routine husbandry behavioral scheduling and other protocols as directed by the leadership teams
• Administers injections or Oral medication in accordance with Hospital Policy
• Observes animal behaviour and/or health conditions, and reports findings to Veterinarian, and Hospital Management
• Assisting in emergency veterinary cases
• Maintains and cleans the medical areas, kennels, surgical room, and equipment
• Performs pharmaceutical and medical supplies inventories and updates the tracker accordingly
• Participates in the medical care and rehabilitation of rescued wildlife including but not limited to marine mammals including dugongs and cetaceans, avian species, reptiles, and marine life
• Assists with anesthetic procedures, radiology procedures, collection of veterinary samples, and preparation of samples for diagnostic testing
• Maintains Sterilization protocol via autoclave systems for surgical kits and instruments
• Consults and educates the animal colleagues, leadership teams and occasionally guests, in areas of health, welfare, and husbandry
• Assists with animal health research projects and prepares data results for presentations and peer-reviewed publications
• Liaising with Nutritional Support staff, Laboratory Diagnostic team, and Animal Care staff
• Assists in maintaining all animal records, in Tracks Software, or data systems
• Assists in the field for rescues, health assessments and field research with various species when required
• Works in varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; weekends, and holidays
  
  

• Veterinary Nursing Diploma/Degree or equivalent
• Veterinary Nursing Diploma/Degree, in a related field or equivalent
• At least 2 years of proven experience in a veterinary hospital as a veterinary nursing technician
