Job Description

The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a brief description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.

Minimum Qualification

• Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Special Education, Gifted Education, Inclusive Education, or a closely related field from an accredited and highly reputable institution.
• Academic qualifications and scholarly record appropriate for appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level.
• Strong record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Demonstrated experience in advising graduate students and supervising theses and/or dissertations.
• Evidence of academic leadership, research leadership, and professional service.
• Proficiency in English language.
  
  

• Distinguished publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong research impact profile, including citation indicators and h-index appropriate to the field and rank.
• Evidence of successful internal and external research funding.
• International collaborations with universities, research centers, and professional organizations.
• Experience in program development, accreditation, graduate education, or academic leadership.
• Expertise in one or more areas such as inclusive education, gifted education, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, assistive technology, twice-exceptional learners, assessment and intervention, or teacher preparation.
• Knowledge of the UAE education system and culture is a plus.
• Proficiency in Arabic language is a plus.
