The Operator is responsible for supporting safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations while delivering excellence in Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost. The role provides technical expertise, operational guidance, and hands-on leadership to ensure production targets are achieved in accordance with Ecolab standards, policies, and procedures.
The incumbent actively promotes a culture of continuous improvement, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Zero Incident Mindset while supporting employee engagement, capability development, and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Champion Ecolab's Goal Zero and Safety-First culture by proactively identifying and mitigating workplace risks.
- Lead by example in ensuring compliance with Ecolab SHE standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety observations and actively participate in Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) programs.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and environmental observations in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), machinery safeguards, and operational controls.
- Participate in risk assessments, safety audits, emergency response activities, and corrective action implementation.
- Promote a speak-up culture by encouraging employees to report hazards and safety improvement opportunities.
Production Operations
- Operate mixing, filling, packaging, and associated manufacturing equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all production activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Ecolab quality standards.
- Monitor process parameters and operational performance to ensure consistent product quality and productivity.
- Perform start-up, shutdown, and shift handover activities to maintain operational continuity.
- Support changeover activities while minimizing downtime and maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Supply raw materials and production components using authorized material-handling equipment, including forklifts where certified.
- Escalate operational abnormalities, equipment issues, and quality concerns through the appropriate channels.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality standards, specifications, and documented procedures.
- Support Right First Time (RFT) manufacturing execution and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Participate in internal audits, compliance assessments, and quality investigations.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation in accordance with Ecolab requirements.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring quality or operational issues.
- Continuous Improvement & TPM
- Actively participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Pillars, Kaizen events, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Drive workplace organization through effective implementation of 5S standards.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Participate in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.
- Support initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing performance.
Leadership & Team Development
- Serve as a role model for Ecolab Values and Leadership Behaviors.
- Support onboarding, orientation, and training of new employees and contingent workers.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members to strengthen operational capability.
- Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to operators within the production area.
- Foster collaboration, engagement, and accountability across shifts and functional teams.
Operational Excellence
- Support achievement of production schedules, customer service levels, and business performance objectives.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate minor troubleshooting and first-line maintenance activities.
- Ensure work areas remain audit-ready through strong housekeeping and workplace discipline.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to optimize operational performance.
- Execute additional responsibilities and projects assigned by management in support of business priorities.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or equivalent qualification.

- Sound knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, production operations, and product applications.
- Forklift certification and practical material-handling experience preferred, where applicable.
