The jobholder is responsible to perform, and report the technical inspection to evaluate and asses the operating and safety conditions for operating equipment’s in Borouge Plants. This role includes; performing the inspection activities in accordance with inspection and HSE procedures, alongside, the coordination with maintenance and operation teams for inspection routine and relevant technical concerns. Jobholder is expected to proactively identify and predict failures and deviated operating or safety conditions, and timely communicating the threats to the concerned staff under the guidance of the inspection engineer.
Key Accountabilities
Performing Inspection & Troubleshooting
Execute the Non-Destructive Testing and all Inspection activities on static equipment and piping on-stream and shutdown periods.
Under the guidance of Inspection / Corrosion Engineer, guide non-destructive technicians in order to optimize resources.
Determine the inspection tool or technique which is used for each inspection type; depends on operating, environment, machining, safety, downtime...etc.
Perform the inspection activities with ensuring full compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environment policies and procedures.
Perform with the help of NDT Technicians non-destructive testing like ultrasonic, dye penetrant, magnetic particle and interpret results for radiography testing.
Assist Inspection Engineer to perform warehouse inspection of incoming materials and also to perform PMI inspection where needed.
Collect samples of deposits / scales / failed part during on stream and shutdowns to investigate corrosion problem / failure analysis.
Investigate any failures or accidents in order to review the inspection records, and recommend any updates on the inspection techniques or standards, for non-structured testing
Reporting & Review
Communicate and coordinate with maintenance and operating teams to plan inspection activities.
Address and highlight the threats and expected failures or other major concerns to the inspection engineer, along with technical or safety details of the potential failure with estimated timing or impact.
Issue the inspection reports for all inspection performed to mitigate the degradation mechanisms.
Collect samples of deposits / scales / failed part during on stream and shut downs to investigate corrosion problem / failure analysis, as required by the Corrosion Engineer.
Issue General Inspection Report (GIR) and Inspection Worksheet (IWS) for approval of Inspection Engineer / Inspection Team Leader.
Maintain and record the inspection data on SAP QM, Excel files, drawing sketches etc. in a retrievable manner.
Ensure proper maintenance and updating of NDT and other quality control records in the respective equipment / piping folders to fulfil information requirements.
Prepare NDT reports to access the condition of equipment and piping for on-stream and shutdown inspection as well as during commissioning of new facilities ensuring adherence to Borouge Procedures. Inspection Services
Provide technical measuring and assessment-inspection services to other technical / operational team in order to visualize and asses the technical issues.
To coordinate with Lifting equipment inspector, witness safety valves and other mechanical valve testing, to witness hose testing activities.
Carry out QC activities as per ITPs for project and repair jobs.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Qualification
Diploma in Technical Disciplines, with a preference for Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering.
AWS/API certification like API 510/570 are desirable
Familiarity of International Codes and Standards related to fabrication and inspection of pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, storage tanks etc.
Familiarity to Engineering Drawings, Manuals, and Symbols.
Fluency in English Language; written and oral.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
More than 6 years of experience in inspection designations for petrochemical industries for Diploma holders, or more than 2 years of experience for Engineers in quality / inspection occupations.
Experience in inspection for Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Piping, Boilers, Furnaces, Flares and Stacks.
Exposure to work as CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector...
Hands on NDT, maintenance, and inspection in oil and gas processing plant.
Hands on technical reporting; checklist, SAP entries, sampling.
Hands on quality reports; forms, template or procedures.
High accuracy in written reporting.
Advanced level of attention to details.
Structured and self-organized.
Adaptable to new knowledge and techniques Professional Certifications
AWS/API certification like API 510/570 are desirable
Preferred Certification in ASNT level II for DPT, MPI, UT and RT
