We are expanding our team and inviting highly skilled professionals to join us as a Design Director for a prominent Mixed-Use Development project in the UAE. This role is integral to our success, offering an opportunity to lead and shape the design vision for a significant development. The Design Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project's success, working closely with our team and stakeholders to deliver an exceptional outcome.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the design team, providing strategic direction and ensuring the project's design vision is realized.
Oversee the full project lifecycle, from concept design to IFC and construction support, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations.
Manage and coordinate design risk management and change control processes, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to integrate design elements and ensure a cohesive project outcome.
Review and approve design documents, ensuring they meet the project's requirements and quality standards.
Provide design management expertise for fast-track and high-value projects, optimizing processes and resources.
Engage with clients and stakeholders, representing the company's design expertise and maintaining strong relationships.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance the project's design and delivery.
Mentor and develop junior design team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering, with a Master's degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in design and engineering, with a focus on large-scale and mega projects.
Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role, such as Director, Head of Design, or Engineering Manager at large-scale developments.
Professional certifications are advantageous, including PMP, RIBA, PE, LEED AP, or equivalent.
Extensive experience in a PMC, Engineering Consultancy, or Developer-led environment, with a strong understanding of full project lifecycles.
In-depth knowledge of international standards, codes, and best practices, as well as local authority regulations in the UAE.
Proven ability to lead and manage complex, multidisciplinary projects, with a track record of successful project delivery.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Proficiency in design management software and tools, with a willingness to stay updated on industry advancements.
