Credit Risk Analyst

This role sits within the CIB Risk function of a global consulting firm, specifically within the Continental Europe & Middle East credit risk team. The team manages wholesale credit admission across Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, and the Middle East, with responsibility for preserving credit quality and integrating ESG factors into risk decisions. The position focuses on the Middle East corporate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess credit risk across a portfolio of CIB Middle East corporate clients, including evaluation of total limit risk appetite within client groups.
• Analyse new transaction proposals, incorporating assessment of transaction structure, borrower credit profile, and financial risk.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, credit ratings, profitability metrics, sector guidelines, financial projections, and ESG-related factors.
• Participate in credit and business committees, contributing to risk decisions and portfolio discussions.
• Liaise with internal and external audit functions, Internal Control, and all units involved in the admission and monitoring process.
• Support internal programmes and projects across relevant business areas as required.
• Interact with global markets, global lending, advisory, and transactional business lines serving global corporate clients and institutional investors.
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of one year of credit risk underwriting experience within a corporate or commercial banking environment.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
• Familiarity with rating tools is advantageous.
• Strong data analysis skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and a client-oriented mindset.
• Proactive thinking and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
