Role Overview

The BIM Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within a construction project. In a main contracting environment, the coordinator bridges design consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, ensuring that digital models are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project execution plans

Key Responsibilities

• Model Coordination: Manage and integrate 3D models from multiple disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) to ensure consistency.
• Clash Detection: Conduct regular clash tests using Navisworks or similar tools, resolving conflicts before site execution.
• Standards Compliance: Implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP), ISO 19650 standards, and company BIM protocols.
• Documentation: Prepare BIM-related reports, dashboards, and model-based documentation for project stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Act as the link between design consultants, subcontractors, and site engineers to maintain model accuracy.
• Training & Support: Provide guidance to project teams and subcontractors on BIM processes and software usage.
• Quality Assurance: Audit models regularly to ensure data integrity, version control, and compliance with project requirements.
• Technology Application: Apply BIM and CAD technologies to enhance construction workflows, cost efficiency, and project delivery.
  
  

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Experience: 3–5 years of BIM coordination experience, preferably with a main contractor on large-scale projects.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.
• Project Exposure: Experience in high-rise, infrastructure, or complex multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Communication: Strong ability to present BIM outputs to management and site teams.
