  • Assist Academy Vision and Compliance
  • Support the academys vision, strategic goals, and improvement plans.
  • Comply with health & safety, equal opportunities, dress code, and IT policies.
  • Engage in performance management and required training, including safeguarding.
  • Attend staff briefings and follow sign-in/out procedures when off-site.

Areas of Responsibility and Key Tasks Planning, Preparation, Teaching and Lesson Management

  • Create a positive learning environment with clear, challenging objectives.
  • Use assessment and data to plan differentiated lessons tailored to student needs.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, punctuality, and work quality.
  • Use varied teaching methods and effective questioning with appropriate resources.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve teaching effectiveness.
  • Ensure efficient use of classroom support.

Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting

  • Assess and monitor student progress, mark work, and set targets.
  • Use data to inform planning and improve learning outcomes.
  • Prepare reports for parents and complete required assessments.

Curriculum Development

  • Contribute to subject and academy development plans with clear targets.
  • Support the academys overall vision through collaborative activities.

Other Professional Requirements

  • Understand professional duties and legal responsibilities.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and professional conduct.
  • Promote high expectations and student potential.
  • Collaborate with staff and participate in academy events and marketing.
  • Take responsibility for professional development and liaise effectively with parents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Education or other relevant field with a teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in teaching specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level desirable but not essential.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Previous experience working with students whom English is not their first language
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
  • Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
