Job Description

The role of a Warehouse Assistant is essential within the logistics and supply chain sector. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial part in the efficient handling, storing, and dispatching of goods and products. You will ensure the smooth operation of warehouse processes and maintain high levels of productivity and accuracy. Working closely with other warehouse staff and sometimes with supervisors, you will contribute to a team environment, focusing on safety and efficiency. Your role is pivotal in managing the inventory, keeping track of stock movements, and ensuring that products are correctly picked and dispatched according to schedule. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you can expand your skill set and contribute to the success of the organization's logistics and supply operations.


Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents meticulously against purchase orders.
  • Organize and store merchandise or products in the designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of all warehouse inventory transactions.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch with precision and attention to detail.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and warehouse processes.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or damages to inventory or equipment promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies within the warehouse environment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks to facilitate efficient transport operations.
  • Contribute to process improvements for increased efficiency in warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred for entry-level applicants.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory software and systems is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
