Teaching Assistant (225-1013)

A Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in the educational setting, offering support to lead teachers and helping to create a conducive learning environment for students. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the main classroom teacher to deliver instructional support and provide individual assistance to students who require additional help. Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in preparing materials and resources for lessons.
• Provide one-on-one support to students who need extra assistance with learning.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Support students with special educational needs as guided by the teacher.
• Assist with record-keeping and tracking student progress and performance.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times including recess and lunch breaks.
• Administer assessments and tests under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Prepare classroom displays and bulletin boards to facilitate a learning environment.
• Provide feedback to students under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development workshops as required.
• Assist in setting up technology and AV equipment for classroom use.
• Ensure classroom safety and respond to emergency situations promptly.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
