Job Description

The IT Field Support Engineer is a critical member of the IT team, responsible for providing on-site technical support to clients in various industries. This role demands a blend of strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues. The engineer will travel to client sites, ensuring that systems and devices operate efficiently and meet the client's needs. In addition to on-the-ground problem-solving, IT Field Support Engineers must also maintain strong relationships with clients, keeping them informed about progresses and suggesting improvements where necessary. This position requires a proactive approach to learning new technologies and staying updated on industry trends to offer innovative solutions. The role is ideal for an individual who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys solving problems, and has the technical prowess to manage complex IT infrastructures.


Responsibilities

  • Provide expert on-site support for hardware and software technical issues.
  • Travel to client locations to conduct system diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of service requests, customer interactions, and repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades of IT systems and equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on the effective use of IT systems.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software as per client requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and assets at client sites.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on service activities and client feedback.
  • Liaise with vendors to facilitate repairs and procure replacement parts.
  • Participate in the development of IT solutions to improve client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or related roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills for effective client interactions.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various client sites as required.
  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and common IT software applications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or related credentials preferred.
