Job Description

The Housekeeping Attendant is a vital position within our organization, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in our facilities to provide a welcoming and hygienic environment for our guests. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. They must take pride in their work, ensuring each area is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness and sanitation. Our ideal Housekeeping Attendant will have a proactive approach to identifying areas that require attention and the diligence to tackle those areas promptly. Working in a varied environment, the Housekeeping Attendant will need to manage multiple tasks throughout their shift, making sure all aspects of the job are completed efficiently and effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and dusting all assigned areas.
  • Ensure all guest rooms are cleaned to the established standards within set timeframes.
  • Restock and replace items such as towels, toiletries, and tissues in guest rooms.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues or damages to the necessary departments promptly.
  • Properly handle and dispose of waste, both regular and recyclable materials.
  • Uphold strict sanitation and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to all safety guidelines provided.
  • Respond swiftly and courteously to guest requests and queries about services.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts in a neat and organized manner for efficient work flow.
  • Check and replenish stock levels of cleaning supplies in storage areas.
  • Follow established security procedures for the protection of guests and property.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and improve service levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education level required for this position.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on achieving high cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
  • Proven reliability and trustworthiness with an ability to work unsupervised.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
