An Electrical Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects. They are responsible for ensuring the integration of electrical systems in large-scale projects, which can range from commercial buildings to industrial facilities and infrastructure projects. They work closely with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors to deliver projects that meet both the client’s requirements and regulatory standards. With a keen eye for detail, the Electrical Project Engineer ensures that all safety protocols are adhered to and all project objectives are met through innovative and efficient engineering solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and implementation of electrical engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budget estimates, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
• Conduct thorough site inspections to evaluate work progress and adherence to design specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
• Manage relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure effective project communication.
• Prepare and review electrical engineering designs, specifications, and equipment documentation.
• Analyze and resolve engineering design problems by applying innovative and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available for review.
• Utilize project management software to track project progress and report to senior management.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to enhance project efficiency and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical engineering design and project management.
• Proficiency with electrical design software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety requirements globally.
• Excellent project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
