Job Description

The role of a Counter Sales Associate is integral to the successful operation of retail and wholesale businesses. Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers as they arrive at the sales counter, providing prompt assistance.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the product range to advise customers effectively.
  • Process sales transactions efficiently, handling cash, credit, and other payment methods.
  • Balance financial transactions at the end of each shift to ensure accurate records.
  • Restock shelves and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales area.
  • Assist in managing stock inventory, including regular stock counts and order placements.
  • Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to senior management as needed.
  • Foster a positive and legal compliant workplace, supporting company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with team members and other departments to optimize the customer experience.
  • Provide feedback on customer needs and potential business opportunities to management.
  • Participate in training and development programs to maintain high sales standards.
  • Contribute to the visual merchandising of the store, ensuring appealing displays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
  • Proven experience in a similar sales or customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with customers.
  • Strong numerical skills for handling cash and processing sales transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems and sales software tools.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods as required by the job duties.
