Job Description

A Stock Keeper plays a crucial role in the inventory management process, ensuring the smooth operation of supply chain activities within an organization. This position involves monitoring stock levels, receiving and cataloging inventory, and ensuring that products are stored in the correct locations for easy access and efficient dispatch. The Stock Keeper must maintain an organized storage environment, track stock movements, and collaborate with other departments to meet inventory demands promptly. This role is vital to the logistical operations of the company and demands a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills. Successful Stock Keepers are adept at multitasking and possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, examine, and manage stock deliveries with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of inventory levels and transactions daily.
  • Organize and store stock inventory in designated warehouse locations.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Conduct regular audits and physical counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Inform management promptly about stock shortages and discrepancies.
  • Implement proper labeling and storage procedures to prevent stock damage.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the warehouse environment at all times.
  • Use inventory management software systems to update records accurately.
  • Collaborate with logistics personnel to schedule and dispatch inventory shipments.
  • Monitor stock rotation practices and oversee expiration management.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of stock control policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background as a minimum.
  • Previous experience in inventory or stock management roles preferred.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and systems is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities required.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to perform inventory audits independently.
  • Physical ability to handle and move heavy stock items as needed.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaborating.
