Job Description

The role of an Accounts Associate is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of an organization. Working under the supervision of the finance department, an Accounts Associate is responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and assisting in preparing financial statements. This position requires a high level of precision, analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. An Accounts Associate works closely with other team members to streamline processes and improve financial reporting accuracy. This role also involves engaging with various departments to gather necessary data for accurate record-keeping and financial analysis. Considered an entry-to-mid level position, it offers opportunities for growth and further specialization within the financial and accounting fields.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and interpretation of financial statements and reports.
  • Manage and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Complete daily accounting tasks to ensure financial records remain accurate.
  • Review and process invoices, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Maintain and update accounting records, spreadsheets, and databases promptly.
  • Support the accounting team during audits through data collection and organization.
  • Perform daily reconciliations between various financial records and bank statements.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings and compliance reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and financial analysis tasks.
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
  • Assist in the examination and improvement of internal accounting controls and safeguards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven work experience in a similar role or accounting-related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with finance team members.
