Job Description

As a Service Advisor in the automotive industry, you will act as the communication link between customers and the service team. You are responsible for understanding the needs and concerns of car owners and ensuring their vehicles receive the necessary maintenance and repair. Your role requires excellent customer service skills, a solid understanding of automotive systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. You'll work closely with technicians to ensure work is completed on time and to the required standards, while also providing transparent and accurate cost estimates to customers. With a focus on quality and customer satisfaction, your goal is to enhance the service department's efficiency and customer service experience.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome customers while understanding their service needs and preferences.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to enhance the dealership's credibility and trust.
  • Communicate vehicle issues and required repairs or maintenance effectively to customers.
  • Coordinate with the service team to schedule appointments for timely service delivery.
  • Provide cost estimates and timeframes for repairs and ensure customer approval before proceeding.
  • Monitor vehicle service progress and update clients promptly about any changes.
  • Facilitate a seamless handover between the technical team and clients after service completion.
  • Promote dealership services and maintain a professional image to boost sales and client retention.
  • Assist in managing the inventory of parts and supplies required for service tasks.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure all service documentation and billing are accurately completed and processed.
  • Collect customer feedback to continually improve service processes and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with prior automotive industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and technical automotive knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective customer interactions.
  • Proven track record in customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for test driving purposes.
