Starting salary: $73,779 – $99,818 + superannuation

The role | Te tūnga
We have a fixed term opportunity for an experienced Programme Coordinator to join our team within the Enterprise Portfolio Office. This is a fixed term position to 31 December 2027, based in our Christchurch office, and will involve working with a team located in both Christchurch and Wellington.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for supporting the work of our Census Processing System project, with high-quality, timely and efficient coordination support. This will include activities such as:
- project scheduling using Microsoft Project
- supporting incremental delivery practices using Azure DevOps to track and manage work
- supporting issues and risk management
- drafting and maintaining project artifacts including monthly status reports
- coordinating project and governance meetings, including agenda preparation and formal minute‑taking
- onboarding new team members
- involvement in procurement and finance activities including managing monthly financial accruals and timesheet reconciliations
- contributing to a positive team culture
- sharing knowledge and leading sessions at the Project Coordination Community of Practice

We are looking for a motivated individual with the following in your cover letter and CV:
- A proven track record of at least 3+ years in a project/programme coordination role across a range of projects
- Strong understanding of project environments, including familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile project delivery approaches
- Proven track record of building strong working relationships across teams
- Examples where youve demonstrated, encouraged, or supported diversity and inclusion in or outside of work.
- Knowledge and experience, or desire to learn and build knowledge and experience of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Māori, and engagement with local Iwi.
