Job Description

DealMaker is a fast-growing fintech company revolutionizing the capital markets ecosystem with a mission to make online capital raising mainstream. We empower founders, CEOs, and operators to raise capital digitally, both from their own communities and through strategically marketed campaigns. No other platform provides an end-to-end solution like ours—and our track record speaks for itself, with over $2B raised across 1,000+ campaigns. We power the largest online capital raises for customers like EnergyX ($88M), Green Bay Packers ($65M), Miso Robotics ($72M+), Monogram Orthopaedics (Nasdaq:MGRM) and many others, with 3 IPOs in the past year alone. We are quickly expanding our horizons and are seeking talented team members to join us on our journey to transform the global capital market.

Who You Are

You are a strategic, commercially minded partnerships leader who loves building new growth channels from zero to one, then scaling them with disciplined execution. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, embodying DealMaker’s values by prioritizing speed over perfection and pushing your limits to find a way, no matter the challenge. You are relentlessly customer-obsessed, always seeking simplified, high-leverage solutions that drive measurable outcomes for partners and, ultimately, our clients.

You are bold and direct in your approach, comfortable negotiating hard, protecting unit economics, and aligning incentives so both sides win. You understand how to make performance channels — including affiliate and newsletter advertising — accountable through smart testing, attribution strategy, and operational rigor. You bring strong judgment, high ownership, and a builder mentality.

What You Will Do

Reporting directly to the Director of Partnerships and serving as a key individual contributor within a 5-person team, you will lead and grow DealMaker’s affiliate partnerships and newsletter advertising initiatives. Your core mission is to unlock scalable investor acquisition and demand generation through:

  • Must-have: Affiliate partnerships (networks, publishers, creators, deal sites, performance partners, fintech ecosystems)
  • Must-have: Newsletter advertising (sponsored placements, dedicated sends, and co-branded content across finance and investing newsletters)
  • Learning opportunity / Nice to have: Traditional media (podcast host reads and sponsorships, streaming and linear TV, out of home including billboards and transit) — exposure welcome but not a requirement

You will own partner strategy, sourcing, negotiation, launch, measurement, and optimization. Your work will directly contribute to team KPIs, including Capital Raised, Return on Ad Spend (or blended efficiency metrics), and Ad Gross Margin. You will also be accountable for building a repeatable pipeline, clear partner economics, and operational processes that scale without breaking.

The most critical part of this role is leading and growing strategic partnerships across affiliate and newsletter advertising channels, securing high-impact deals, structuring them to maximize ROI, and building measurement frameworks that enable fast iteration. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Client Strategy, Finance, Legal, and Product to ensure partnerships are launched cleanly, tracked correctly, and optimized continuously.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and execute the affiliate partnerships roadmap, including partner segmentation, outreach strategy, testing plan, and scaling playbooks.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate new affiliate partners and networks, including CPA, CPL, revenue share, hybrid, and tiered performance structures.
  • Launch and scale newsletter advertising partnerships, including list and audience segmentation, placement selection, creative requirements, send cadence, and testing methodology.
  • Create performance measurement plans for each channel, including attribution approach (UTMs, pixels, postbacks, promo codes, lift testing, geo experiments, incrementality) and partner reporting cadences.
  • Own partner relationship management, quarterly business reviews, renewals, and performance improvement plans.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure clean execution, including compliance review, creative approvals, tracking setup, and reconciliation.
  • Build, document, and optimize SOPs that reduce errors, shorten launch timelines, and improve partner and internal throughput.
  • Mentor teammates and elevate the broader partnerships function through best practices, templates, and repeatable systems (this is an IC role, but you will lead through influence).

What Skills You Need

The ideal candidate must have the ability to strategically develop and secure high-impact affiliate and newsletter partnerships aligned with growth objectives and audience targeting goals. This role requires strong negotiation skills to structure favorable, ROI-driven deals and durable relationships, along with the analytical rigor to evaluate performance and identify optimization opportunities.

Success depends on:

  • Performance and measurement fluency across both direct response and brand channels
  • Strong operational discipline to launch cleanly and avoid tracking, billing, and execution errors
  • Clear, direct communication and stakeholder management across internal teams and external partners

Specifically, we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, affiliate marketing, performance marketing, or media partnerships, ideally in fintech, consumer finance, marketplaces, or performance-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, negotiating, and closing partnership agreements across affiliates and newsletter publishers.
  • Strong deal structuring and negotiation skills, including CPA, CPL, revenue share, hybrid pricing, tiering, exclusivity, and performance guarantees.
  • Measurement and attribution expertise, including setting up and validating tracking, postbacks, UTMs, pixels, promo codes, partner dashboards, and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data and manage to KPIs such as Capital Raised, ROAS (or blended efficiency), CAC, conversion rate, and Ad Gross Margin.
  • Strategic planning skills to allocate budget and inventory across partners and channels based on KPIs, performance trends, and customer fit, adapting quickly to rejections or changes, reallocating efficiently, and collaborating with the client strategy team to maximize outcomes.
  • Experience designing tests for channels with imperfect attribution, including geo lift tests, incrementality experiments, matched market testing, and holdouts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment on economics, tracking, and creative requirements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience with Marketing, Sales, Product, Data, Finance, and Legal.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple partner launches and initiatives concurrently.
  • Strong operational acumen, with the ability to build, document, and optimize SOPs and QA checklists that drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Nice to have: Exposure to or genuine curiosity about traditional media channels (podcasts, TV, OOH) and how performance measurement frameworks could be applied to make them accountable. Experience in or a strong understanding of online capital raising, investing audiences, and regulated marketing environments is a plus.
