Job Description

Join our team as a Coal Technician and play a key role in delivering high-quality sampling, preparation, and analysis services for both internal and external customers. This is a great opportunity to secure a permanent, full-time position with an 12 hour roster, offering stability and hands-on experience in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate and timely sampling, preparation, and analysis of samples
• Follow approved procedures across sampling, recording, preparation, analysis, storage, and reporting
• Ensure accuracy, precision, and traceability of all samples
• Assist with calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory and preparation equipment
• Follow both routine and non-routine sampling instructions from the Supervisor
• Support general laboratory operations and other duties as required
  
  

Qualifications

About You

We provide full training and on-the-job development, however you will ideally bring:

• 6–12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical processing environment
• Previous experience in a mineral or coal laboratory (preferred)
• Coal sampling, preparation, or testing experience (advantageous)
• Basic computer skills (Excel beneficial)
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating rosters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
