Job Description

We’re building the kind of school children deserve.

This is where confidence is built—or quietly lost.

Most children start school curious.

They try.

They explore.

They’re willing to be wrong.

At This Stage, Patterns Are Forming

Do I try again?

Do I give up?

Do I avoid when something feels hard?

Handled well, children build confidence and independence.

Handled poorly, they begin to hold back.

Most schools overlook this.

We don’t.

Our school

We are not a typical school.

Montessori is our foundation—but not our limit.

We focus on how children learn, respond to challenges, and begin to see themselves and see the world around them.

We support the whole child—academic, emotional, physical, spiritual, social, and psychological development.

Our Environment Is

  • holistic
  • growth-focused
  • community-driven
  • built to develop confident, capable, and self-aware children

Our Program Integrates

  • Strong academic foundations
  • With a dedicated focus on emotional development, early mindset, and belief formation
  • Holistic health — including movement, nutrition (with whole organic food), overall well-being, and naturopathic wellness-informed support
  • Connection to nature — through outdoor experiences and an environment that extends beyond the classroom
  • Leadership, independence, responsibility, and real-life skills

We work closely with families—because alignment between home and school matters.

The foundation is strong.

Now we are raising the standard.

The role

This is not a passive, nurturing role.

You are shaping how children respond to challenge from the very beginning.

A critical part of this role is developing early mindset:

Not through constant praise—

But through calm, consistent, intentional guidance in real moments.

Children Should Experience

  • Effort as something they can sustain
  • Mistakes as part of learning—not something to avoid
  • Challenge as something they can move through

On a Daily Basis, You Will

  • Help children take the next step themselves
  • Avoid over-helping or rescuing
  • Hold simple, consistent expectations
  • Support children through frustration
  • Build independence step by step

You

Who this is for

  • Stay calm when children struggle
  • See what’s behind behavior
  • Guide without over-controlling
  • Support without over-accommodating
  • Bring warmth, love, and care

You Understand

  • Confidence is built through experience, not just reassurance
  • Independence is developed, not given
  • Early patterns matter

This role is not for everyone

Not a Fit If You

Step in too quickly to solve problems

Rely on constant reassurance

Avoid setting expectations

Prefer a passive or unstructured environment

Are not interested in growing

Requirements

  • Montessori Diploma (AMI/MACTE)
  • Bachelor of Education (preferred)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Check and clean criminal record
  • Food Handler Certification is an asset
  • Strong understanding of development in ages 6–9, (cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological), and the ability to apply that understanding in real classroom situations
  • Ability to lead a classroom independently
  • Strong communication and judgment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead a classroom independently with professionalism and presence
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Creative, positive, fun, and empowering
  • Ability to collaborate openly with a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital tools
  • Quick to learn and adapt to new applications, systems, and technology
  • Awareness of how early experiences shape children’s patterns around effort, challenge, and independence
  • Able to intentionally develop students’ mindset—helping them build confidence, resilience, and self-belief through how challenge and effort are handled
  • Observant, and able to respond thoughtfully to the needs of the classroom
  • Able to adapt in real time while maintaining structure and consistency
  • Genuinely enjoys being with children and guiding their development — not just managing them
  • Open-minded and committed to continuous personal and professional growth
  • A genuine passion for children, development, health, and the outdoors
  • Background in psychology, coaching, entrepreneurial experience, or relevant certifications is an asset

Successful Candidate Will Be Required To Provide

  • References
  • Copies of certificates of the aforementioned qualifications
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • Standard First Aid/CPR certification, or proof of enrollment in course
