Shape the future of rural generalist medicine while growing your own leadership and education career. Based in Toowoomba (with flexibility), this part-time opportunity lets you support and inspire the next generation of rural doctors through meaningful education, mentoring and collaboration—making a real impact across regional communities.

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $178,524 (L22) comprising salary rates between $143,869 (L18) and $159,338 p.a. (L22), motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., regional attraction allowance, professional indemnity cover and private practice arrangements. Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value. This is a temporary part time, 32 hours per fortnight role.

As a Rural Generalist Training Advisor (recent fellow), youll play a valued role in strengthening rural medical training and supporting doctors who care for regional communities. From shaping education programs to guiding trainees through critical career decisions, your work will directly influence the quality, sustainability and confidence of the rural medical workforce.

  • Designing and delivering education initiatives that strengthen training quality and trainee experience
  • Coaching and supporting rural generalist trainees as they progress through key milestones
  • Partnering with clinical leaders, educators and stakeholders to advance shared workforce priorities, improve training systems, build connection, and support innovation in rural medicine

  • Fellowship in rural generalist medicine obtained within the last five years, with current medical registration
  • Recent experience practising in a rural or regional setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with trainees and stakeholders
  • Genuine interest in education, mentoring, and continuous improvement

Youll stand out from the crowd if you bring experience in teaching, program development, research, or leadership roles within rural or medical training settings.
