Senior MS D365 FO-AX 2012 Technical Consultant

Position Description

We are looking for an experienced AX 2012 Developer with strong Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) development capabilities. The role involves designing, developing, and supporting technical solutions across AX 2012 and D365 FO environments, including customizations, integrations, reporting, and module enhancements. You will work closely with cross functional teams to support ongoing operations and future upgrade initiatives. Technical Consultants are challenged to understand and respond to clients' varied business needs in both the private and public sector, and work with clients to rapidly enhance the internal capabilities needed to continuously improve operational and innovation performance. Your future duties and responsibilities

• Development & Customization
• Design, develop, and maintain customizations in AX 2012 (X++) and D365 FO extensions following Microsoft best practices.
• Enhance AX forms, tables, classes, workflows, and create upgrade safe extensions.
• Build and maintain SSRS reports, batch jobs, queries, and data entities.
• Ensure clean, maintainable code aligned with versioning standards.
• Integrations & Automation
• Develop and support integrations such as: Bank integrations & e Invoicing connections EDI integrations (customers, vendors, 3PLs) Logistics/Carrier integrations (shipping, freight, tracking) ISAC related integrations (AX ↔ ISAC) FMP integrations (AX ↔ FMP) ECM SharePoint integrations using ECM ISV from Pulse Enterprise Portal customizations and enhancements
• Utilize AIF, OData, DMF, REST/SOAP services, and flat file/API based integrations.
• Work with Azure DevOps for code versioning, branching, pipeline builds, and release management.
• Module Support
• Provide technical support and development for: AX Manufacturing modules (production control, BOM, routes, MRP) AX Service/Field Service modules Logistics, procurement, inventory, and financial processes.
• Technical Support & Maintenance
• Troubleshoot AX 2012 and D365 FO issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Conduct performance tuning, debugging, and code optimization.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support for functional teams and business users.
• Cross Team Collaboration & Documentation
• Work closely with functional consultants on requirement analysis and solution design.
• Prepare detailed Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and deployment instructions.
• Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and release coordination.
  
  

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Bachelor's Degree: Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 8-10+ years of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 development experience (X++)
• Proven MS Dynamics Finance and Operations technical experience.
• Experience participating in requirements gathering process for IT systems.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication.
• Ability to lead people, teams, and projects.
• Experience in D365 integration, and cloud/on prem environments.
• Has MS Azure, and Power Platform familiarity/experience.
