Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager who lives and breathes digital. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will own the marketing strategy end to end, from channel planning and budget allocation through to campaign execution, performance analysis and reporting to the leadership team.

The ideal candidate has built and scaled digital programmes across paid, organic, lifecycle and content — and can prove the commercial impact of that work. Experience gained inside a digital marketing agency is a significant advantage: we value the pace, breadth of channel exposure and client-facing discipline that agency environments build.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning

• Own and deliver the annual and quarterly marketing plan, aligned to revenue and growth targets.

• Set channel strategy and allocate budget across paid media, SEO, content, email/CRM, social and partnerships.

• Define the KPI framework — CAC, ROAS, MQL/SQL volume and quality, pipeline contribution, LTV — and hold the team to it.

• Track competitor activity, category trends and platform changes, and adjust the plan accordingly.

Digital Campaign Leadership

• Lead the planning, launch and optimisation of integrated digital campaigns across the full funnel.

• Oversee paid media across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube and programmatic — including structure, targeting, creative testing and bid strategy.

• Direct the SEO and content programme: technical health, keyword strategy, editorial calendar and digital PR / link acquisition.

• Own lifecycle and marketing automation — segmentation, nurture journeys, lead scoring and retention campaigns.

• Run a structured testing roadmap (A/B and multivariate) across landing pages, creative, audiences and messaging.

Analytics & Performance

• Own the measurement stack: GA4, Google Tag Manager, server-side tracking, attribution modelling and dashboarding.

• Report performance and spend efficiency to leadership on a monthly and quarterly cadence, with clear recommendations.

• Translate data into decisions — reallocate budget, kill underperformers, and scale what works.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Line-manage and develop the marketing team; set objectives, review work and coach on craft.

• Select and manage external agencies, freelancers and platform partners, holding them to scope, budget and results.

• Partner closely with Sales, Product and Design to align messaging, campaigns and go-to-market launches.

• Safeguard brand consistency across every digital touchpoint.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• 6+ years in marketing, with at least 3 years focused on digital and 1–2 years managing people or agency partners.

• Demonstrable ownership of a meaningful paid media budget, with results you can talk through in detail.

• Deep, hands-on expertise across the core digital disciplines: paid search and paid social, SEO, content, email/CRM and conversion rate optimisation.

• Strong command of GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager and at least one marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Marketo, Klaviyo or similar).

• Confident with data — comfortable in spreadsheets and BI dashboards, and able to build a commercial case from numbers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to and influence senior stakeholders.

• Track record of managing multiple concurrent campaigns to deadline without dropping quality.

Highly Desirable

Prior experience in a digital marketing agency — ideally in a client-facing or account/strategy lead capacity, having managed multiple brands and verticals simultaneously.

• Relevant certifications: Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot.

• Experience in [industry / B2B SaaS / e-commerce / retail].

• Working knowledge of marketing analytics tooling such as Looker Studio, Power BI, Semrush, Ahrefs or Hotjar.

• Exposure to marketing operations, CDPs, or AI-assisted content and campaign workflows.

What Success Looks Like

• First 30 days: audit current channels, spend, tracking and content; deliver a findings and quick-wins report.

• First 90 days: a signed-off channel strategy and testing roadmap, with tracking and reporting rebuilt where needed.

• First 6 months: measurable improvement in cost per acquisition and pipeline contribution against agreed baselines.
