About The Job
The role is accountable for the full external portfolio lifecycle — from market sourcing, portfolio assessment, and acquisition support through onboarding, performance steering, and value realization. Operating as a senior individual contributor, the position delivers outcomes through commercial ownership, cross ‑ functional leadership, and strategic influence, leveraging Collections Strategy & Analytics resources rather than direct line management. To own and drive the acquisition and end ‑ to ‑ end management of externally sourced portfolios, including Non ‑ Performing Loan (NPL) purchases, co ‑ servicing arrangements, and hybrid recovery models.
What Youll Do
External Portfolio Acquisition & Market Engagement
- Proactively source external portfolio opportunities through direct engagement with banks, financing companies, and financial institutions.
- Represent Home Credit Philippines at conferences, networking events, and industry forums to build and maintain a strong origination pipeline.
- Work in close partnership with the Business Development team to convert market interactions into viable acquisition or servicing opportunities.
Portfolio Evaluation & Deal Support
- Lead high level assessment of external portfolios, covering recovery potential, risk cost, operational complexity, regulatory impact, and strategic fit.
- Support acquisition and servicing discussions by shaping portfolio structures, cooperation models, and commercial logic.
- Coordinate with Finance, Risk, Legal, and Compliance on pricing assumptions, governance considerations, and deal viability.
End to End External Portfolio Ownership
- Own the full lifecycle of externally procured portfolios from onboarding through execution and optimization.
- Ensure operational readiness for new portfolios in cooperation with Collections Operations, IT, and PMO.
- Monitor portfolio performance against acquisition rationale and steer corrective actions where value erosion is observed .
Strategic Prioritization & Resource Steering
- Provide strategic insight on prioritization between core Home Credit portfolios and externally sourced assets.
- Propose capacity and focus frameworks balancing value creation, risk cost, regulatory exposure, and operational constraints.
- Actively contribute to defining and balancing the company’s debt purchase vs debt sale strategy , ensuring coherence across portfolio decisions.
Strategy & Analytics Enablement
- Leverage analytics as a decision support tool for portfolio selection , performance steering, and governance .
- Utilize Collections Strategy & Analytics teams and collection consultants to support evaluations, projections, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure learnings from external portfolios are fed back into broader collections strategy and enterprise steering logic.
Governance & Cross Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary business owner for external portfolios in management, risk, and steering forums.
- Maintain very tight cooperation with Finance, Legal & Compliance, IT, PMO, Risk, and Collections leadership.
- Coordinate and oversee workstreams delivered by external collection consultants supporting acquisition and strategic projects.
- Ensure all external portfolio activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
Market & Organizational Representation
- Act as a visible and credible representative of Home Credit Philippines in external and internal forums related to external portfolio strategy.
What You Need To Have
Minimum 6 years of experience in collections, portfolio management, credit risk, business development, or financial services strategy
Exposure to external portfolios, NPLs, servicing arrangements, or third-party managed books
Solid generalist understanding of portfolio economics, risk trade offs, and collections operations
Experience operating in influence- based roles without direct line authority
Strong commercial judgment and stakeholder management capability
Developing long-term strateg ies
Track record of data-driven decision making
Financial Acumen & understanding how late collections can impact P&L
Intermediate Understanding of Champion-Challenger , AB testing and segmentation methodologies
Managerial Proficiency in PowerPoint / Excel
Advanced English; strong presentation and communication skills
Externally oriented, commercially curious, and relationship driven
Comfortable and energized by visibility (conferences, panels, networking)
A bility to build trust and credibility; Structured, pragmatic decision maker
