Role Overview

Senior Java Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-level java applications for electronic trading systems across multiple asset classes, with expertise in cloud infrastructure, FIX protocol integration, and real-time message processing.

Role Responsibilities

• Server-side Java design and development within banking and trading environments
• Maintain code quality through comprehensive testing and code reviews
• Provide L3 support for production deployments and issue investigation
• Follow SAFe agile methodology and participate in ceremonies
• Mentor junior team members
• Collaborate with architecture and DevOps teams across multiple remote regions
• Follow standard SDLC processes and design patterns

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years in global financial services - specifically trading systems development
• Proven expertise in server-side Java design and development in banking/trading environments
• Advanced enterprise Java development proficiency
• Build tools - Maven (preferred) or Gradle
• FIX Protocol hands-on experience with FIX Engines (e.g., QFJ, Rapid Addition, UlBridge) in FX/Credit/Commodities
• Middleware - Solace messaging
• Cloud - AWS (EC2/EKS)
• CI/CD - Jenkins, GitLab
• Linux administration and command-line skills
• SQL and database management
• Testing - JUnit and related frameworks
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Agile experience (SAFe/Scrum)

Desirable

• Deep knowledge of FX/Credit/Commodities products and electronic trading
• Spring Boot, Google Guice
• Grafana, Prometheus (observability)
• Cucumber (BDD/automation testing)
• Terraform or Ansible (IaC)
• Hazelcast (distributed caching)
• Kubernetes / AWS EKS
• AI tools experience in a development environment (e.g., AWS Kiro)
