The Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. This role will be responsible for the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of our AWS environment and will work closely with US-based leadership and globally distributed engineering teams.

You will take end-to-end ownership of production infrastructure, establish best practices, and help mature our DevOps processes as the platform scales.

Your Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)
• Own the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of highly available and scalable AWS infrastructure
• Manage and optimize:
• EC2 (autoscaling groups, AMIs, lifecycle management)
• RDS (backups, performance tuning, replication, upgrades)
• Elastic Load Balancing (ALB/NLB)
• VPC, subnets, security groups, and routing
• Drive capacity planning and cost-effective scaling strategies
• Security & Reliability
• Own the cloud security posture, including:
• IAM roles and least-privilege access
• Network security and intrusion detection
• Security monitoring and alerting
• Implement and maintain:
• Intrusion detection and threat monitoring
• Patch management and vulnerability remediation
• Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Monitoring, Observability & Operations
• Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting:
• CloudWatch (metrics, logs, alarms)
• Third-party observability tools as appropriate
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Continuously improve system reliability and operational maturity
• Automation & CI/CD
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Establish best practices for safe deployments, rollbacks, and environment consistency
• Collaboration & Leadership
• Serve as the primary owner of DevOps and cloud infrastructure
• Partner with engineering leadership, backend, frontend, and QA teams
• Provide guidance on architecture, scalability, security, and operational best practices
  

• Must possess at least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles
• Proven experience operating production AWS environments
• Strong background in system reliability, security, and performance
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must have deep hands-on experience with:
• EC2, RDS, Elastic Load Balancing
• Autoscaling, performance tuning, and cost optimization
• VPC networking and security
• Monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Intrusion detection and security best practices
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform strongly preferred)
• Linux systems administration
• Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Experience supporting Ruby on Rails and/or Java applications
• Experience deploying React-based frontends
• Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams
• FinOps or cloud cost optimization experience
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional Certification is a plus
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate Certification is a plus
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional Certification is a plus
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty Certification is a plus
