Being a Revenue and Technical Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue and Technical Accountant, that’ll be assigned in Revenue Operations Team under the Finance & Accounting Department. You would be an excellent fit for this role if you are highly motivated, eager to learn, and possess exceptional communication and team-building skills. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our revenue processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position demands a solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations.

We are hiring for multiple individual contributor roles within the same team, across various levels including experienced, senior, and SME/lead. Your experience will be evaluated during the interviews to align you with the appropriate level within the team.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports and forecasts, and manage worldwide revenue accounting close activities.
  • Analyze revenue trends and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist in the analysis of historical sales activities for proper revenue allocation in multiple-element arrangements.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and partner with the accounts receivable team to streamline processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in revenue operations and implement best practices.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue processes.
  • Utilize and optimize financial systems and software tools to support revenue accounting functions.
  • Assist in the implementation and integration of new systems related to revenue operations.
  • Assist in miscellaneous projects as needed to support the revenue operations team, including UAT, cross-functional projects, etc.
  • Partner and collaborate with other teams regarding revenue-related inquiries and issues.


Qualifications

On your first day, well expect you to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Progressive experience in the accounting industry, preferably in a public company environment subject to SOX.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
  • Confidence in your ability to communicate (in English) both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements.
  • You are an independent learner, highly proactive, and organized. You have a strong positive work ethic and a “get-things-done” attitude.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, but are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dig into the details.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and enjoy interacting with stakeholders across the organization.


Highly Valued

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Experience with top of the line ERPs - Oracle, Netsuite, SAP, Zuora, Blackline, Tableau
  • CPA
  • Experience on technical aspects and complex reconciliations.
