About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal GBS HR Contractor Management professional to lead and support the effective execution of contractor management processes across BHP. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational excellence, safe work outcomes, and strong enterprise-wide vendor relationships. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendor partners, and cross-functional teams to drive performance improvements and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine Scopes of Work, following contract management frameworks and resolving issues through strong vendor relationships to drive safe and effective work practices.
- Oversee and support the execution of contractor processes that promote safe, efficient, and effective service delivery.
- Build and maintain long-term vendor and supplier relationships to drive performance, compliance, and strategic value.
- Driving business improvement through the measurement of performance.
- Supporting the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate exposure to risk.
- Monitor contractor performance using data, metrics, and benchmarking to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Fostering strategic supplier relationships that target realisation of value over and above contract value.
- Making evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term GBS HR objectives.
- Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Implement governance and assurance practices, including Management of Change procedures.
- Address and resolve contract variations, defects, and non-conformances in adherence to company standards.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, operations, and other internal stakeholders to drive consistent processes and value chain performance.
- Applying an understanding of the business context, operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and performance.
