The Microsoft SQL Server Database Consultant will provide technical consulting and managed services to a wide range of customers locally in Australia and New Zealand as a key member of our Database practice.
Responsibilities
SQL Server database Administration, including all SQL HA and DR technologies
Install and configuration of SQL DB engine, SSIS, SSAS & SSRS.
SQL performance tuning & investigation.
SQL Server upgrades, downgrades, and migrations (In-place / Side-by-Side upgradation)
SQL Patching.
SQL Encryption (TDE) .
SQL Logshipping, Database Mirroring Replication and Always On.
Azure SQL Database Administration with On Prem, Azure Pass, Azure managed Instances, AWS EC2, AWS RDS instances.
SQL Server migration from on prem to cloud based assets like Azure Pass, AWS EC2, AWS RDS instances
Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database administration.
Have a good working experience in Core SQL DBA Architecture, Backups/Recovery and Performance tuning exercise.
Experience in Coordinating and working with Clients to understand the business requirements and design the architecture, accordingly, resolve issues if any.
Must be a strong team player and able to work closely with the other technical specialists and team members.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication
Be part of a 24x7 roster supporting customers across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific
Mandatory Skills Description
Technical Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a database administrator, with implementations, upgrades, migrations, conversions, and consolidation projects with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database ranging from SQL 2005 to SQL 2022 on Windows platforms.
Take ownership of problems, incidents and project work.
Excellent problem-solving and performance tuning skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Be able to follow direction and take ownership of any allocated projects/changes/incidents/problems.
You will be expected to obtain your SQL MS certification & to become familiar with working within a ITIL framework.
Strong command administering database security, data recovery, performance monitoring and tuning on both On Prem and Cloud platforms.
Design & build specific database environments to meet business requirements.
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
Must have experience with Microsoft SQL Server Always On / HADR.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
Consulting experience in providing support and implementation services with the ability to build lasting positive customer relationships, takes ownership in maintaining quality of service and recommending areas of improvement.
