About The Job

To drive innovation and future readiness of the GMA application by leading technology research, proof of concept (POC) initiatives, and experimentation with emerging technologies. The role is responsible for identifying, validating, and industrializing new ways of working, architectures, tools, and platforms that enhance scalability, resilience, developer productivity, and customer experience—while ensuring solutions are practical, secure, and aligned with business strategy. The IT Research and Development Lead acts as a bridge between innovation and delivery, enabling the organization to adopt modern engineering practices and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving digital

What Youll Do

Technology Research & Emerging Innovation

• Continuously research, assess, and track emerging technologies, architectures, and engineering practices relevant to mobile, cloud, and digital platforms to ensure long term viability of the GMA application
• Evaluate trends in cloud native, SRE, DevOps, observability, automation, and platform engineering, translating insights into practical innovation opportunities
• Act as a thought leader on future ready technologies, advising IT and business stakeholders on technology direction, risks, and opportunities
  
  

Proof of Concept (POC) Leadership

• Lead the ideation, design, and execution of proof of concepts (POCs) to validate new tools, platforms, architectures, and ways of working before enterprise adoption.
• Define clear success criteria, technical metrics, and business outcomes for POCs to support data driven go/no go decisions.
  
  

Innovation to Delivery Enablement

• Bridge innovation and delivery by converting successful POCs into production ready patterns, reference architectures, and engineering standards
  
  

New Ways of Working & Engineering Practices

• Identify and champion new ways of working that improve developer productivity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Promote modern engineering practices including automation, self service capabilities, observability driven development, and reliability engineering principles.
• Drive initiatives that reduce operational toil and manual interventions through tooling, automation, and platform improvemen ts.
  
  

Reliability, Resilience & Future Proofing

• Ensure innovations strengthen the resilience, availability, and recoverability of the GMA application, aligned with SRE, DR, and BCP principles.
• Embed reliability, observability, and operability requirements early in solution design and experimentation.
• Anticipate future scale, regulatory, and operational needs to future proof platform and application capabilities.
  
  

Governance, Risk & Alignment

• Ensure research and innovation initiatives align with enterprise architecture, security, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Support audit and compliance objectives by designing engineering driven, automated controls rather than manual workarounds.
  
  

What You Need To Have

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT development or engineering roles, with exposure to production systems
• Technical & Engineering Skills
• Background and Experience in Mobile App Development API and backend Java and NET
• Cloud azure working experience
• Hands on experience with observability and monitoring platforms, such as: Azure Application Insights, Grafana, Logging platforms (e.g., Loki, centralized logging stacks)
• Solid knowledge of cloud native architectures (preferably Azure),
• Proven experience designing and operating Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP), including RTO/RPO and failover strategies [
• Technology Research & Innovation
• Proven experience researching, assessing, and validating emerging technologies, tools, and architectures
• Strong background leading or contributing to proof of concept (POC) initiatives, from ideation through evaluation and decision making
• Ability to translate innovation into practical, production ready solutions aligned with business strategy
• Prior experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or dedicated SRE roles
• Exposure to FinOps or cloud cost optimization practices and tooling
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., financial services or similar industries)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and advanced automation frameworks
• Experience helping teams embed operability and reliability into the SDLC early in design and delivery
