About the Job:

We are seeking a detail-oriented IP Coder to support our clients inpatient coding operations. In this role, you will assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient medical records of moderate to high complexity using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other approved coding systems. You will ensure compliance with official coding guidelines and the Standards of Ethical Coding established by AHIMA, while abstracting essential clinical information to support accurate billing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review inpatient medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with established coding guidelines.
• Validate documentation, code assignment, and charges within the financial system to ensure accuracy and completeness, escalating discrepancies when necessary.
• Utilize EMR systems, encoders, and related coding tools effectively while maintaining strong attention to detail and productivity standards.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams and maintain professional working relationships to support efficient coding workflows.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experienced Inpatient Medical Coder with AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding credential is required.
• Strong proficiency in inpatient diagnosis coding guidelines and CPT/HCPCS code assignment.
• Experience using EMR platforms, encoders, and related coding software.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation review skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills.
