GUIDEWIRE BUSINESS ANALYST — INSURANCE TRANSFORMATION

About The Role

We are seeking experienced Guidewire Business Analysts to support configuration, implementation, and transformation engagements across insurance environments. You will serve as the critical link between insurance business stakeholders and Guidewire delivery teams — translating operational requirements, policy rules, and regulatory constraints into clear, platform-aligned specifications that drive successful implementations.

This role goes beyond traditional business analysis. A strong Guidewire BA understands not just what the business needs, but how those needs map to Guidewire's product model, configuration options, and platform capabilities. Guidewire certifications are a strong differentiator for this role and are actively highlighted in how we position our team to clients. If you hold one or more Guidewire certifications, we want to know about them — and we will make sure clients do too.

  • Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) — Cloud-hosted implementations and release cycles
  • Digital Portals — CustomerEngage, ProducerEngage, ServiceRepEngage
  • Guidewire Integration Framework — Third-party data sources, document generation, payment processors

Core Responsibilities

  • Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements from insurance subject matter experts, operations teams, and product owners across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter implementations
  • Translate insurance business rules, workflows, and regulatory requirements into Guidewire-aligned functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate working sessions and workshops with client stakeholders to analyze current-state processes and define future-state configurations
  • Collaborate with Guidewire developers and solution architects to ensure requirements are technically feasible and aligned to platform capabilities and best practices
  • Analyze and document product model requirements including lines of business, coverages, policy terms, rating structures, and forms logic
  • Support the configuration and validation of Guidewire screens, workflows, and business rules in collaboration with the development team
  • Contribute to integration requirements including data mapping, third-party system connections, and API specifications
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation including process maps, configuration workbooks, data dictionaries, and traceability matrices
  • Support data migration activities including legacy data mapping, transformation rules, and validation criteria
  • Coordinate and support UAT by preparing test scenarios, facilitating business stakeholder walkthroughs, and managing defect triage
  • Contribute to change management activities including training materials, business readiness assessments, and go-live support

Qualifications

Required

  • 4+ years of business analysis experience, with at least 2 years working directly on Guidewire implementations or in an insurance technology environment
  • Functional understanding of at least one Guidewire product — PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter
  • Working knowledge of P&C insurance operations including policy lifecycle, claims handling, or billing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex insurance business rules into structured, testable requirements
  • Experience facilitating requirements workshops and working sessions with senior business stakeholders
  • Proficiency with requirements and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and business audiences

Preferred

  • Guidewire certification at Associate or Professional /ACE level — PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter (actively highlighted in client engagements)
  • Experience across multiple Guidewire products — candidates with cross-suite knowledge of PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter are especially valued
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) release cycles, cloud deployment models, and Jutro digital framework
  • Understanding of Guidewire's product model architecture — including policy lines, coverages, clauses, and rating integration points
  • Experience with Guidewire integration requirements including third-party data vendors, print services, payment processors, and reinsurance platforms
  • Exposure to Guidewire Digital Portals configuration and business requirements
  • Familiarity with Guidewire's alphabetical cloud release naming conventions and version-specific feature sets
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent BA certification

  • Adaptability — Navigating version differences, client-specific customizations, and evolving platform capabilities across engagements
