WHY THIS ROLE, WHY NOW

The AI layer for the dental industry has not been built yet. The product is proven, but the roadmap is wide open. North America market expansion is underway. The Manila team is being elevated from execution to product — and this is the ground floor of that transition.

The person who joins now as Principal Platform Architect doesnt inherit a finished system. The lab automation platform — Case Downloaders, Entry, QC, LMS, Digitizer — is being codified from scratch, and in 12 months, the integration architecture and quality standards that every future engineer builds on top of will exist because you set them.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• The entire EviSmart Lab Automation platform — code standards, integration architecture, and technical integrity across all components: Case Downloaders, Case Entry, Case QC, LMS, and Digitizer
• The backend services and logic that govern the end-to-end automated case flow — seamless, error-free data transfer from intake to output, owned entirely by you
• The internal APIs that feed clean, consistent lab case data to the Hive (AI-Master Agent) — the quality of every AI training cycle starts with the integrity of what you build here
• The hardest technical problems on the platform — digitizer hardware interfaces, legacy LMS connectors, and any integration challenge that requires the most senior judgment on the You write the code, not just review it
• The technical bar the engineering team builds to — error-handling patterns, integration standards, code quality — made visible through the work you ship alongside them, not just what you sign off on
• The Automated Workflow Integrity Rate — you are the first to know when it moves below 99.0%, and you act on it before it becomes an incident report

• A defined path forward: Principal Platform Architect → Head of Engineering, Lab Automation → VP The roles above this one are being built as the platform scales — you grow into them by building what makes them necessary
• Up to PHP 200,000/month, based on experience and technical depth

A problem that sits for 48 hours is a retention problem. An ambiguous requirement is a build problem. We fix things before they escalate, and we expect everyone here to do the same.

A NOTE ON WHAT WE’RE NOT

You might wonder whether a "lab automation platform" role means your work stays internal — invisible to customers, disconnected from the product roadmap. It doesnt. The platform you own is what makes it possible for dental labs to process cases at scale. The Hive AI agent depends on the data integrity youre accountable for. Every dentist and lab using EviSmart is downstream of what you build. This is a product-critical role, not an internal tools role.

This is not a cost-center role and Manila is not a support function. Our Manila team leads engineering and operations — the product ships from here. If youve seen Philippines office mean something smaller at other companies, that is not what this is.

On AI: EviSmarts AI is not a marketing claim. We have in-house model research and development teams, and the tools we use daily — Claude, Cursor, Luvable, LLM-powered workflows — are part of the actual stack, not a slide in a deck. The next 12 months will see the Hive (AI-Master Agent) scale on top of the clean data pipelines this role is responsible for building — and the person in this seat will have a direct hand in what that AI can and cant do.

WHAT WE NEED

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or technical team lead — where you personally owned system stability and integrity end to end, not just contributed to it
• Proven Player-Coach track record — hands-on coding of core and complex systems alongside active technical mentorship of engineering teams; not one or the other
• Deep, demonstrable expertise in C#, React JS, Azure, and cloud-native architecture — you can design and build the system at the hardest layer, not just review others work
• Demonstrated delivery of high-volume, mission-critical systems with measurable stability outcomes — error rates, uptime figures, or SLA adherence you can speak to specifically
• Communication that is clear, fast, and written — we are distributed and async writing is a core skill, not a soft one
• Familiarity with hardware integration (physical digitizers, device interfaces) or legacy system connectors is a strong advantage
