Director – Global Controllership COE

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to join our Global Controllership Center of Excellence (COE) team in Manila. This leadership role will oversee multiple functions including Controllership, SOX and Billing, with a growing team currently comprising 20+ professionals. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with experience managing and growing finance and controllership teams in a captive, for a large multi-national company.

About the Role:

  • Lead and manage multiple functional teams within the COE, including Controllership, SOX, and Billing and potentially more.
  • Manage COE costs to budget. Provide monthly forecast updates.
  • Promote excellence. Drive operational efficiency, standardization, and process improvements across assigned functions. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Collaborate and support functional stakeholders and internal customers across geographies and functions.
  • Ensure compliance with global accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Global Controllership COE on strategic initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to team leads and individual contributors.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and organizational growth.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma and automation projects.
  • Manage change effectively in a dynamic, complex, and evolving environment.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a multi-national captive or GBS organization.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or Certified Accountant are highly desirable.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strategic, flexible thinker with a hands-on approach.
  • High energy leader who can manage timely, high-quality deliverables, while balancing and prioritizing business goals with individual and team needs.
  • Passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams. Proven experience managing teams of 20+ members across multiple functions.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Six Sigma certification or experience with process improvement methodologies is an advantage.
