We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Innovation Manager.
Role Purpose
Lead and drive data transformation initiatives aligned to the Data, Analytics & AI roadmap.
Drive the rest of Data, Analytics & AI verticals to leverage and migrate from SAS to the new Google Cloud Platform environment leveraging new tools such as Google Big Query, Python and QlikSense.
Develop strategy, define use cases, Proof of Concept / Value and business cases with the Data Innovation, BI & Visualization Head to drive investments.
Collaborate with Group, Regional and Local Data Analytics, Digital, Value Streams and IT Teams to drive Data innovation and transformation initiatives such as MDP, iHub, Product Serving ToolKit and Generative AI (GenAI).
Drive automation of numerous Management Information (MI) Reports via QlikSense and AI / Generative AI Project(s).
Collaborate and work with Channels and Campaign Analytics team to drive automation and innovation of WPB campaigns to develop effective personalized, omni-channel direct to consumer marketing strategies (Marketing, Servicing, Fraud, Targeted Value Stream Campaigns).
To drive set-up and establish end-to-end modeling process from business problem scoping, frame-working, ABT and feature engineering, data exploration, model development, model validation and model management & execution.
Drive and spearhead streamlining and development of modeling ABTs / profitability / deep-dive datamarts to lift team productivity and output.
Take charge of own personal development, learning from superiors, peers in-market and regional. Generate and align individual development plan with direct manager.
Be a team-player and work with the team to elevate MNL Data Science and Analytics as a whole, supporting team upskilling and learning activities, teambuilding, voice of the employee support projects to lift employee engagement and satisfaction
Support and take part in team’s transformation initiatives
Ensure that data is always secure and protected. Support initiatives of the team to improve data governance across all areas, being an empowered user of HSBC data. There is zero tolerance for internal fraud, infosec violations and data leakage.

Achieve your personal IWPB performance metrics
Manage stakeholders from the time they raise a business question to presenting and influencing them with sound recommendations to address the business questions
Deliver agreed Transformation and Innovation Projects / POCs based on agreed milestones and success metrics.
Ensure that deep-dives and models don’t remain to be an intellectual exercise. Every study and model should be accompanied by solid recommendations that can be presented and discussed with business for execution to realize impact.
Drive maximization of customer and business lifetime value / profitability influenced by data analytics and innovation. This covers impacting Acquisitions and Onboarding, Engagement and Deepening and Customer retention.
Customers / Stakeholders
Paint a picture of the HSBC customer’s lifetime value potential with the help of both internal and external data.
Collaborate with Data Analytics Office, Group and Regional Data Analytics & CRM teams, WPB Digital & Channels and Value streams to drive innovation and portfolio optimization within International Wealth and Premier Banking.
Manage projects, internal customers and stakeholders’ requests and ensure delivery according to agreed Service Level Agreements and/or
Help drive and support prioritization of Mobile X commercialization and personalized Digital CRM initiatives.
Develop and provide insights, models which can enable the improvement of Net Promoter Score / Customer satisfaction
Leadership & Teamwork
Work closely with MNL Data, Analytics and AI team head to ensure that Analytics end-to-end value chain is realized
Drive education and analytics adoption of peers and stakeholders by proving the value of analytics via use cases with quantifiable positive outcome
Keep abreast of new Data, Analytics and AI technical and business progression and applications and share the knowledge to upskill fellow Data, Analytics & AI colleagues; educate stakeholders within and outside IWPB, locally, regionally and group.
Proactively support others through direct and indirect actions beyond activities particular to this role
Influence data-driven decision making and actions through presenting, surfacing cost-savings and/or revenue / customer growth opportunities to key stakeholders and senior leaders
Take charge of own career by developing and following through on Individual development plan, reaching out to both local and regional peers, superiors / mentors
Demonstrate the behaviors on Self Leadership as an Individual Contributor based on the HSBC Group Leadership Capability for this level.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Ensure that sales & operations are undertaken in accordance with HSBC Bank plc FIM, BIM and Credit Policy Manual appropriate lending guidelines.
Advocate Data Privacy& Information Security across customer touchpoints.
Knowledge / Experience
At least 3 years work experience in a customer data, insighting and advanced analytics/data science function
Proven ability and track record in Data Science and Analytics
Capability to deeply understand HSBC’s customers, channels, products and profitability dynamics
In-depth understanding of HSBC’s customer data inclusive of transactional data
In-depth understanding of the Premier and Wealth Propositions
Healthy knowledge of Business, Marketing, Risk and AI
Skills
Excellent Programming skills such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, Google Big Query
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent relationship and cross-functional skills. Excellent presentation skills to stakeholders inclusive of senior leaders of the organization.
Strong drive and capability to automate
Knowledge and Experience in developing visual sales and campaign dashboards in Excel or a more advanced tool like Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI or Google Data Studio
Knowledge in data science techniques (ie regression, neural network, random forest, clustering, decision tree) and experimental designs / test and learn methodologies
Knowledge in developing and optimizing customer journeys aligned to campaign & business objectives
Project Management and Detail Orientation
Customer driven with a strong focus on quality of service
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band level than stated above.
