Your Role
As a CDI Trainer - IP, you will:
Deliver end-to-end process training covering assigned CDI domains.
Facilitate induction training for new and lateral hires, as well as refresher and upskilling sessions for existing staff.
Customize training modules based on client SLAs, payer guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial), and EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech.
Conduct assessments, quizzes, and feedback sessions to measure learning effectiveness.
Update training materials and SOPs based on process changes or client requirements.
Collaborate with Clinical SMEs and Operations to identify training needs and skill gaps.
Ensure training delivery meets compliance, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
Prepare training materials, assessments, and certification scorecards while maintaining documentation and version control of all process documents.
Conduct pre-assessments, mid-evaluations, and final certifications to evaluate trainee performance.
Analyze trainee errors, provide retraining and coaching support, and track post-training productivity and proficiency.
Partner with Operations, Quality, and HR to streamline onboarding and on-the-job learning programs.
Participate in client calibration calls and support audits or client visits by presenting training metrics and achievements.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
Minimum 2 years of CDI or coding training experience in a BPO or healthcare setting
At least 2 years of acute care clinical experience (ICU or Med/Surg strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, MS-DRG methodology, and risk adjustment
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech
Preferred skills/expertise
Masters degree or credential in business, healthcare, or related field
Proficiency with CDI/coding technology and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and independent decision-making
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create impactful presentations
Experience working in a matrixed environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams
