The Candidate Experience & Communications Strategist plays a key role in shaping how Sutherland’s employer brand is perceived throughout the candidate journey. This is a highly strategic role focused on identifying communication gaps, aligning external messaging with our brand narrative, and ensuring a cohesive, engaging, and impactful experience for candidates across all touchpoints — from the career site to job descriptions, emails, and social platforms.

This person will bring a strong background in candidate experience, marketing communications, and data-driven thinking to uncover insights, optimize messaging, and craft experiences that truly reflect who we are as an employer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the content strategy for the career site, working closely with the brand and design teams to keep it current, relevant, and aligned with candidate needs.
  • Analyze candidate feedback and behavior data (from platforms like Qualtrics and Google Analytics) to uncover pain points, gaps, and opportunities in communication.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing, Brand, and TA teams to align messaging across all candidate-facing channels, including LinkedIn Life, Glassdoor, and job platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers and content leads to craft clear, engaging storytelling and campaign messaging tailored to candidate interests.
  • Ensure job descriptions, recruitment campaigns, and email communications follow brand tone and reflect our EVP.
  • Liaise with the career site vendor to ensure optimal performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage content updates.
  • Monitor trends and platform updates to continuously improve our candidate communication strategy.

  • Brand & Communications Expertise: Strong grasp of employer brand principles, tone of voice, and storytelling across digital channels.
  • Data Interpretation: Experience using data to inform decision-making, identify gaps in communications, and optimize candidate touchpoints.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Comfortable working across functions (TA, Design, Marketing, Vendors) and managing multiple priorities.
  • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of digital marketing channels and how candidates engage with platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and career sites.
