The Canada Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities across the Canadian market. The role focuses on building relationships with prospective customers, generating qualified leads, scheduling customer meetings, and supporting revenue growth by promoting Abbott's workplace drug testing solutions. The representative will proactively develop sales opportunities and serve as a key contributor to the expansion of Abbott's customer base throughout Canada

Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Lead Generation
Identify and prospect new customers through market research, networking, referring to cold calling, email campaigns, and digital outreach.
Conduct 40–50 outbound prospecting calls per day and execute follow-up activities to generate qualified leads.
Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of opportunities within the Canadian market.
Qualify prospects based on business needs, employee population, testing requirements, and revenue potential.
Schedule meetings and introductory discussions for the sales team and business leaders.
Customer Engagement
Establish and maintain professional relationships with key decision-makers within target organizations.
Understand customer requirements and identify opportunities for Abbott's workplace drug testing solutions.
Deliver compelling value propositions and company capability presentations
Ensure timely follow-up and effective communication throughout the lead qualification process.
Market Intelligence
Research Canadian market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
Identify emerging opportunities within transportation, logistics, construction, manufacturing, energy, mining, and other safety-sensitive industries.
Maintain awareness of workplace drug testing regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Collaboration and Coordination
Work closely with sales, operational, and customer support teams to support customer acquisition strategies.
Coordinate customer meetings, presentations, and introductory engagements.
Support strategic initiatives aimed at expanding Abbott's workplace drug testing business across Canada.
Reporting and Documentation
Maintain accurate prospect and customer information in CRM and sales databases.
Document all business development activities, customer interactions, and opportunities.
Generate regular reports on prospecting activities, pipeline growth, and lead conversion metrics.
Track progress against business development targets and objectives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Qualified opportunities created.
Number of outbound sales calls completed.
Customer meetings and appointments scheduled.
Lead-to-opportunity conversion rate.
Sales pipeline value generated.
Prospect engagement and response rate.
CRM data accuracy and compliance.
Achievement of monthly and annual lead generation targets.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Completed at least 2 years in college or with an associate or bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in business development, lead generation, or customer acquisition.
Skills And Competencies
Strong business development and prospecting capabilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
Ability to identify opportunities and qualify potential customers.
Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
