In this role, you will focus on enterprise integration engineering—designing and delivering secure, scalable, production-grade integrations that enable reliable data flow and communication across business-critical systems. You will work hands-on with modern integration approaches including microservices, event-driven architecture, messaging, and APIs, while also leading delivery across project teams and stakeholders.

The Opportunity

As an Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping integration strategy and leading end-to-end delivery of enterprise integrations. You will be expected to bring deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka, and apply strong integration architecture skills across event-driven systems, APIs, and messaging platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement integration architecture aligned to business objectives and enterprise technology roadmaps.
  • Establish and maintain integration standards, patterns, guidelines, and best practices to drive consistency and quality.
  • Manage end-to-end integration delivery across discovery, design, build, test, deployment, release, and operations.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute directly to solution design/build when required.
  • Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging and streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka (required), Azure Service Bus, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc.
  • Apply deep knowledge of enterprise integration patterns/anti-patterns, event-driven architecture, and REST / SOA / Serverless / EDA patterns.
  • Ensure integrations meet non-functional requirements including scalability, resilience, observability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Drive secure integration design and implementation, including any of the following: OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, IAM, secrets management, encryption, PII handling, and compliance/regulatory considerations as applicable.
  • Oversee CI/CD-aligned delivery practices and code quality, leveraging tools such as Git/SCM and SonarQube.
  • Support production reliability through monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis (RCA).
  • Produce and maintain documentation including architecture diagrams, interface contracts, data-flow mappings, and technical specifications.

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in integration engineering/architecture with ownership of enterprise production delivery.
  • Hands-on experience installing and configuring integration platforms/environments.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise, production-grade solutions end-to-end (including ongoing operations and management).
  • Strong hands-on development experience in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka. - with certification especially for Java (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with message brokers/event streaming platforms (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
  • Strong experience with microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP, or Oracle).
  • Strong experience with CI/CD practices and tooling such as Git/SCM, SonarQube, Azure DevOps, Github Actions, Jenkins, GitLabs CI, GitOps.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and production operational mindset (monitoring, performance tuning, RCA).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project delivery and coordinate project teams (technical leadership, planning, governance).
  • Work model: Hybrid (consulting engagement).

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with iPaaS platforms, ESB/middleware, and API management tools
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, Azure, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
  • Strong track record improving integration reliability through observability, hardening, and standardization.
  • Ability to translate integration complexity into pragmatic, secure, and operable designs that teams can maintain.
  • Familiarity with AWS Services
