The Opportunity

When you join PwC Acceleration Centers (ACs), you step into a pivotal role focused on actively supporting various Acceleration Center services, from Advisory to Assurance, Tax and Business Services. In our innovative hubs, you’ll engage in challenging projects and provide distinctive services to support client engagements through enhanced quality and innovation. You’ll also participate in dynamic and digitally enabled training that is designed to grow your technical and professional skills.

As part of the Software Engineering team you will engage in the exciting world of COBOL programming and contribute to modernizing legacy systems. As an Associate you will focus on learning and supporting project tasks while developing your skills in programming and system analysis. This role offers a unique chance to deepen your technical knowledge and build meaningful connections within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the modernization of legacy systems through COBOL programming
  • Support project tasks while enhancing programming and system analysis skills

  • Engage in continuous learning to deepen technical proficiency
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

What You Must Have

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Oral and written proficiency in English required

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with code analysis tools and automated conversion utilities
  • Familiarity with modern application architectures and design patterns
  • Demonstrating problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Documenting technical specifications and conversion processes
  • Excelling in communication and collaboration
  • Utilizing version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and understanding of mainframe/midrange systems
  • Hands-on experience converting COBOL code to modern languages including Java, C#, Node.js, and Python
  • Strong knowledge of legacy database and storage technologies including DB2, IMS, and VSAM
  • Experience with both mainframe (z/OS) and midrange (AS/400, iSeries) platforms
  • Understanding of modern cloud-first technology stacks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
