Role Overview

The QA Lead is responsible for leading a team of UAT testers supporting the modernization of Back Office Transaction Processing Systems and Applications. This role requires strong expertise in QA methodologies, proven leadership capability, and a solid financial services background, preferably in Mutual Fund Transfer Agency operations.

The QA Lead will oversee full-cycle User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring business requirements are validated, risks are mitigated, and systems meet operational and regulatory expectations prior to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of UAT testers.
  • Allocate testing assignments and manage workload distribution.
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and development support.
  • Ensure team adherence to QA standards, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for UAT-related issues.
  • UAT Strategy & Governance
  • Develop and execute comprehensive UAT strategies and test plans aligned with modernization objectives.
  • Ensure traceability between business requirements, test cases, and execution results.
  • Define entry and exit criteria for UAT phases.
  • Implement structured QA methodologies (e.g., risk-based testing, defect lifecycle management, regression testing).
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and audit readiness.
  • Test Planning & Execution
  • Oversee the creation of detailed test scenarios and test cases covering end-to-end transaction processing flows.
  • Ensure full UAT coverage of back-office processing systems, including interfaces and downstream impacts.
  • Coordinate test cycles, regression testing, and defect triage sessions.
  • Monitor defect trends, identify root causes, and escalate systemic risks as needed.
  • Validate defect resolutions prior to final sign-off.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Processing and Technology teams, as well as Project Managers.
  • Participate in requirements reviews to ensure clarity and testability.
  • Communicate UAT progress, risks, and readiness status to leadership.
  • Support go-live readiness assessments and post-implementation validation.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of QA/UAT experience, including supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing frameworks, and defect management processes.
  • Experience leading UAT for system modernization or large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Financial services background, preferably with experience in:
  • Mutual Fund Transfer Agency operations
  • Back-office transaction processing
  • Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant QA, Agile, or Project Management certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP, Scrum, ITIL) are preferred but not required.
