Your Teams Impact
The DCOPS - Automation Team is dedicated to support various data sets in delivering accurate data to clients promptly, while reducing operational costs associated with content production through automation. The team automates and maintains regular collection processes for Economics, Estimates, Ownership and Funds data sets.
As a Process Specialist, you’ll use your skills in Python and Advanced Excel to automate data collection processes, maintain and troubleshoot existing automation systems, and resolve issues flagged by analysts or system alerts. Your work will be essential to keeping our automation workflows running smoothly and continuously improving how we operate.
What Youll Do
- Developing and maintaining Python scripts to automate the downloading of data from various web sources.
- Enhancing and optimizing existing scripts to streamline data ingestion into internal databases.
- Collaborating with development and support engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of automation solutions.
- Conducting non-regression testing to validate new features and ensure system stability.
- Providing ongoing support and maintenance for existing automation projects
- Taking ownership of new automation initiatives, from design to deployment, under the guidance of the Team Lead.
- Handling ad hoc tasks and special projects assigned, contributing to continuous process improvement.
What Were Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (required).
- 0–12 months of relevant work experience; internship or academic project experience in automation or software development is a plus.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, particularly Python (required); familiarity with C or C# is a plus.
- Solid understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS (required).
- Experience with APIs, JavaScript libraries, and Pandas is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel Macros and automation tools.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, geographically distributed team environment.
