Job Description

Make an impact by strengthening the controls and governance that protect clients and the firm. Join a team that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will lead critical reconciliations and accounting support activities, drive issue resolution, and help improve operational resilience. You will partner closely with stakeholders to maintain high standards of control and regulatory readiness.

As a Vice President in the Reconciliations Utility, you will lead day-to-day reconciliations and accounting support activities while strengthening governance, controls, and issue resolution. You will help ensure statements and records are accurate and delivered on time, and that exceptions are investigated, escalated, and resolved effectively. You will partner with stakeholders across functions to keep procedures and evidence standards current and audit-ready. You will also develop people and drive process improvements that reduce operational risk and improve outcomes.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead daily reconciliations and accounting support activities to ensure accurate, timely completion and reporting.
  • Oversee reconciliations governance for activities subject to Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS) expectations (as applicable), including ownership, escalation paths, and evidence standards.
  • Drive timely identification, investigation, escalation, and remediation of breaks, exceptions, and potential breaches (as applicable), including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Produce and review reconciliations performance metrics and control indicators (for example volumes, aging, timeliness, and high-risk items), including trends and clear commentary.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and other stakeholders to interpret and implement policy or rule changes impacting reconciliations, updating procedures and documentation as needed.
  • Maintain strong control ownership by ensuring key controls are appropriately designed, documented, and operating as intended.
  • Lead issues management by logging, tracking, coordinating remediation plans, and maintaining closure evidence for control gaps and operational issues.
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external reviews by organizing requests, providing evidence, and driving remediation outcomes.
  • Lead operational disruption triage and incident response for reconciliations impacts (as applicable), assigning actions, tracking progress to closure, and communicating status updates.
  • Maintain and refresh process documentation and continuity materials (for example procedures, dependencies, manual workarounds, and escalation paths) to support operational resilience.
  • Coach, develop, and manage team members through hiring, onboarding, objective setting, performance reviews, and ongoing feedback.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 10 years of reconciliations experience or equivalent relevant operations experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading reconciliations delivery, including break management and exception investigation.
  • Working knowledge of Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS) requirements relevant to reconciliations governance (as applicable), including evidencing, escalation, and breach or incident handling.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and the application of those principles in operational processes.
  • Proven experience in operational risk and controls, including control design, control performance monitoring, and audit readiness support.

  • People management experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated project delivery experience, including process change, testing support, and implementation.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to partner effectively across a matrix organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience producing governance materials and supporting attestations or certification processes related to reconciliations (as applicable).
  • Experience leading operational resilience activities such as tabletop exercises, continuity planning, and post-incident reviews.
  • Experience driving process re-engineering, automation, or productivity initiatives in a controls-focused environment.
  • Experience coordinating responses for regulatory exams or formal external reviews.
  • Experience managing stakeholder expectations across multiple teams and locations.
