Trade Lifecycle Associate I - Client Instruction Capture And Settlements Commercial And Investment Banking

Help deliver a reliable post-trade experience that clients and market participants can trust. You will lead a team that ensures trades move accurately from capture through settlement, resolving issues quickly and strengthening controls. This role offers the opportunity to influence process improvements, support change initiatives, and build a high-performing operations culture.

As a Transaction Processing Manager (Trade Lifecycle Associate I) in Custody Operations, you will lead daily trade processing and settlement workflows, ensuring timely execution, issue resolution, and a strong risk and control environment. You will partner with stakeholders to manage escalations, improve processes, and support consistent service delivery.

Job responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end workflow for custody trades from capture through settlement.
• Monitor daily trade capture, settlement, and fail management activities to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Investigate settlement discrepancies and drive resolution using defined escalation channels.
• Respond to internal and external queries on trade status, settlement timelines, and market practices.
• Allocate work effectively through capacity planning, scheduling, and prioritization based on volumes and deadlines.
• Coach, develop, and support team members through training, feedback, and succession planning.
• Communicate operational priorities, process updates, and regulatory or procedural changes to the team.
• Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures to reflect current policies and control requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processing quality, controls, and client experience.

   

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• 3 years of people management experience in an operations environment.
• Experience overseeing trade processing and settlement workflows, including issue investigation and resolution.
• Knowledge of reconciliations, settlements, trade support, and fail management processes.
• Demonstrated risk and control awareness, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet critical deadlines.
• Strong communication skills across written and verbal channels with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven customer service skills, including handling challenging situations professionally.
• Ability to plan resources effectively and lead a team in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Ability to learn and apply new market practices, products, and operational processes as business needs evolve.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Global or local custody operations experience.
• Familiarity with SWIFT MT54x series settlement messages.
• Experience driving process improvement initiatives, projects, or operational change activities.
• Experience updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and control documentation.
• Flexibility to work Asia Pacific and late Asia Pacific shifts (for example, 6:00am to 11:00am start times).
