Job Summary

The Procurement Service Center Supervisor provides leadership to entry-level professional and support-level employees within a defined sourcing discipline. The role manages daily procurement operations, supports sourcing processes, conducts analysis, and leads projects to meet quality, cost, and service objectives. Operates with freedom to determine methods within broadly defined processes and contributes to team effectiveness, process improvements, and sourcing performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply sourcing methods and lead approved process and tool improvements.
  • Lead short-term projects aligned with business strategy, ensuring deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Supervise assigned team members and/or Non‑3M Workers, including work prioritization, task assignments, and performance feedback.
  • Address complex or non-routine inquiries using analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Provide leadership within the team and influence operational decisions across work groups.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues, expedite work, and ensure project alignment with business needs.
  • Oversee process evaluation, service transitions and continuous improvement initiatives; support development of specifications and sourcing strategies.
  • Lead sourcing compliance activities and ensure adherence to internal guidelines, corporate policies, and 3M standards.
  • Participate in corporate programs and maintain compliance with professional and quality standards.
  • Work flexible hours as needed to support global procurement requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching, training, work assignment management, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate and location policies; address policy violations appropriately.
  • Manage workforce vendor relationships and contracts as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; local equivalents may apply.
  • Typically 3–6 years of relevant sourcing or procurement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing principles related to materials, supplies, services, or transactional procurement.
  • Understanding of 3M structure, sourcing processes, and business operations.
  • Proficiency with relevant computer programs and corporate systems.
  • Strong English communication skills; additional languages may be required per location.
  • Customer service‑focused mindset with strong attention to quality.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Structured, detail‑oriented, and team‑oriented work approach.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; ERP/SAP and sourcing tools experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in business, engineering, finance, or related fields may be accepted per local requirements.
  • Second language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
