Finance Planning & Compliance Officer
The Finance Planning & Compliance Officer supports the CFO in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, and finance-related compliance activities.
The role serves as a key individual contributor within the Finance team, responsible for converting financial and operational data into meaningful management information, maintaining planning and reporting processes, and ensuring that recurring finance-related compliance requirements are properly tracked, documented, and completed.
The position works closely with the CFO, Financial Controller, Management Accountant, and department leaders to support financial visibility, accountability, and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
1. Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Support the CFO in the annual budgeting process.
- Prepare and maintain budget templates, schedules, assumptions, and supporting models.
- Coordinate budget submissions from department leaders.
- Review budget inputs for completeness, consistency, and reasonableness.
- Consolidate departmental budgets into the overall company budget.
- Maintain detailed schedules for headcount, payroll, operating expenses, and other key cost drivers.
- Assist in translating operational plans into financial projections.
- Maintain approved budget versions and supporting documentation.
- Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis as required by the CFO.
- Monitor actual financial performance against approved budgets.
2. Forecasting
- Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts.
- Coordinate forecast assumptions and inputs with relevant department leaders.
- Maintain rolling forecasts for key financial and operational drivers.
- Analyze historical trends and current performance to improve forecast quality.
- Update revenue, payroll, headcount, operating expense, and other relevant forecast schedules.
- Identify changes in forecast assumptions and quantify their financial impact.
- Highlight potential financial risks and opportunities to the CFO.
- Maintain forecast documentation and supporting schedules.
3. Management Reporting
- Prepare recurring monthly management reporting packages for CFO review.
- Produce budget-versus-actual and forecast-versus-actual reports.
- Prepare variance analyses and identify key financial performance drivers.
- Develop departmental and cost-center financial reports.
- Track revenue, payroll, operating expenses, margins, and other key financial metrics.
- Prepare financial and operational KPI dashboards.
- Provide clear explanations for significant variances and unusual movements.
- Assist in preparing financial presentations and reports for executive management.
- Maintain consistency in reporting formats, definitions, and methodologies.
- Continuously improve the usefulness and clarity of management reporting.
4. Financial Analysis and Decision Support
- Perform financial analysis requested by the CFO.
- Analyze trends, variances, and financial performance across departments.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
- Support scenario analysis and financial modeling.
- Assist with cost-benefit analysis and business-case evaluation.
- Analyze department spending and identify opportunities for improved cost management.
- Support headcount and compensation analysis.
- Develop ad hoc reports and analyses to support executive decision-making.
- Present financial findings clearly and concisely to the CFO and relevant stakeholders.
5. Finance Compliance
- Maintain a centralized Finance compliance calendar.
- Track recurring finance-related statutory, regulatory, tax, corporate, licensing, insurance, and other compliance requirements.
- Monitor compliance deadlines and ensure responsible parties are informed in advance.
- Coordinate required documentation with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Follow up on outstanding compliance requirements and escalate potential delays or issues to the CFO.
- Maintain complete and organized supporting documentation for compliance activities.
- Assist in coordinating requirements from external accountants, tax advisers, auditors, banks, insurers, and other professional advisers.
- Support timely submission of finance-related compliance filings and documentation.
- Maintain records of completed compliance requirements and supporting evidence.
- Assist the CFO in monitoring compliance-related risks and open items.
6. Finance Policies, Procedures, and Governance
- Assist in maintaining Finance policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Support documentation of recurring Finance processes.
- Maintain organized Finance documentation and reporting standards.
- Assist in monitoring adherence to approved Finance policies.
- Track policy review dates and coordinate updates as needed.
- Support the CFO and Financial Controller in strengthening Finance governance and internal controls.
- Assist with preparation of documentation required for audits, reviews, or other external examinations.
7. Financial Reporting Coordination
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to obtain accurate and timely actual financial information.
- Perform analytical reviews of financial results before management reporting.
- Ensure management reports reconcile appropriately with finalized accounting information.
- Identify discrepancies or unusual movements and coordinate investigation with the Financial Controller or responsible Finance team member.
- Maintain standardized financial reporting templates.
- Ensure consistency between actual results, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
8. Process Improvement and Automation
- Identify opportunities to improve budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and compliance processes.
- Develop standardized templates and reporting tools.
- Reduce unnecessary manual work and recurring administrative activities.
- Assist in automating financial reports and management dashboards.
- Improve the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of Finance information.
- Document improved processes and maintain appropriate procedures.
- Support implementation of Finance systems, reporting tools, and workflow improvements.
