Art Lead

About the Role

We take great pride in creating and offering our players a wide range of different art styles and themes in our games. As an Art Lead your focus is on guiding and supporting other artists and animators rather than creating graphics hands-on. You will primarily focus on cohesiveness and render quality on par with the ELK brand vision. However, if the situation requires it, you must be comfortable creating art assets all the way yourself.

In the role of Art Lead, you will be responsible for, among other things:

Establish a strong visual direction early in pre-production with the Product Owner, Creative Director, and Concept Artist using mood boards, style guides, and visual keywords. Support Product Owner to achieve a unified vision under production, balancing gameplay clarity, creative ambition, and innovation.

Inspire and Guide a team of artists and animators through asset creation, animation and final implementation. Maintain the balance between artistic excellence and technical constraints.

Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with the product owner to ensure that both the visual and feature flows enhance the gameplay, narrative, and overall player experience.

Stakeholder Communication: Regularly present the artistic vision and progress to the Creative Director, Product Owner, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and ambitions.

Hiring and Development: Participate in the recruitment of new staff and contribute to their ongoing professional development within the team.

Qualifications

Experience: You are a skilled artist with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the gaming industry.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic ability, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, visually compelling games.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of artists to cultivate a healthy art culture that is inclusive, collaborative and user focused. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and defend creative decisions.

Creative Problemsolving: A deep understanding of visual storytelling with a strong focus on entertainment, composition, color theory, lighting, and design principles. Ability to balance creative ambition with technical and production constraints.

Passion for iGaming: We want to see you show interest and take initiative to do the homework to get into this industry. Prior experience in iGaming is good to have. We promise it will be lots of fun!

Language: The ideal candidate will possess excellent English language skills, both in written and verbal communication, as this is essential for daily tasks and collaboration. Proficiency in Swedish is a plus.
