Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Biophysical Scientist to support the Cell Engineering and Analytical Sciences (CEAS) team. This is a 100% laboratory‑based role focused on advanced biophysical and analytical characterization of protein therapeutics. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise across separations and protein characterization, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, fast‑paced scientific environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform biophysical and analytical characterization of protein and protein‑API samples to support development and process understanding
Execute and interpret methods including cIEF, cSDS, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, and fraction collection
Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical and biophysical methods, with a focus on capillary‑based techniques
Characterize higher‑order protein structure and assess critical quality attributes
Independently plan experiments, analyze data, and clearly communicate results to cross‑functional partners
Maintain detailed electronic documentation using laboratory software systems
Collaborate closely with scientists within CEAS and adjacent Protein‑API functions in a dynamic lab environment
Qualifications
PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Hands‑on expertise with multiple analytical techniques, including:
cIEF
cSDS
HPLC
Mass Spectrometry
Fraction collection
Demonstrated familiarity with:
Higher‑order protein structure analysis
Method development and optimization
Capillary‑based analytical methods
Experience with Empower and Benchling
Familiarity with Intavio or related emerging analytical software platforms is a plus (experience not required)
Proven ability to work independently, manage experiments end‑to‑end, and deliver high‑quality data
Authorization to work in the country without sponsorship
